AuctionsPlus commercial sheep and lamb listings decreased 2% this week, with 35,082 head offered. Clearance slipped to 50% this week and value over reserve was down to $6 above set reserves. Lamb listings made up 67% of the total offering as new season lambs accounted for 15,447 head. The new season lamb offering was met with better demand resulting in a 64% clearance and averaged $6 over reserve.

There has been a significant improvement in clearance rates across lamb, sheep and cattle sales on AuctionsPlus this week. AuctionsPlus commercial cattle listings slipped 17% to 7,497 head, while clearance jumped 14 percentage points to 48%.

AuctionsPlus commercial cattle listings fell to 10,499 head, decreasing by 12%. The smaller offering did little to support the market indicators with clearance slipping to 43% and Value Over Reserve (VOR) falling to $36.

AuctionsPlus commercial sheep and lamb listings fell 17% this week, with 27,842 head offered while clearance rate slipped to 32%.
Weekly Cattle Comments - 11.08.23
AuctionsPlus commercial cattle listings lifted to 11,895 head, increasing by 3%. The larger offering was met with easing demand as clearance fell to 45%, while value over reserve also fell to $51.
Weekly Sheep & Lamb Comments - Week ending Friday 11th August
AuctionsPlus commercial sheep and lamb listings rose 12% this week, with 33,374 head offered while clearance rate slipped 12 percentage points to 33%.
