AuctionsPlus has launched the Feeder Optimised tag to better connect suitable cattle with feedlot buyers.
As more Australian cattle move into feedlot programs, demand for stock that meets tight feeder specifications continues to grow. At the same time, producers and agents can be unsure whether their cattle meet those requirements.
The Feeder Optimised tag has been developed to bridge this gap.
By clearly identifying cattle that meet defined feeder parameters, including weight, age, dentition and pregnancy status, the tag makes suitable listings instantly recognisable and searchable on the AuctionsPlus platform.
AuctionsPlus Chief Executive Officer Wyn Snyman said the launch reflects the platform’s commitment to connecting agriculture.
“Feeder Optimised is about precision. We are making it easier for agents and producers to present cattle that meet feedlot specifications. For feedlot buyers, it offers greater certainty, efficiency and scale when sourcing feeder cattle nationally,” Mr Snyman said.
“Importantly, the Feeder Optimised tag comes with no cost to vendors or buyers.”
The system, which was developed in consultation with major feedlots and agents, automatically recognises suitable assessed cattle and guides agents through configuring listings to suit feedlot buyer preferences.
“It won’t change existing processes, as it relies on datapoints already captured by vendors and assessors,” Mr Snyman said.
“Meanwhile, buying online remains seamless for feedlot buyers, who can bid on backgrounders within the same sale, while having the ability to filter out feeders with ease and confidence.”
Beyond filtering, buyers can save tailored searches and enable real-time notifications via the AuctionsPlus App, ensuring they are alerted when suitable Feeder Optimised cattle hit the market.
