Following the immediate closure of the auction, clearance rates for the sale reached 43%.
Despite the much larger offering, the clearance rate jumped to 75% this week, up from the very subdued 49% last week.

The National Lamb Sale registered a total of 38,976 head, with the smaller offering seeing clearance rates reach 90% - up from last week’s 76%.
Rain and flooding continue to wreak havoc on the supply of cattle to market, with producers battling against restricted access to paddocks, yards and roads.
First cross ewe lamb listings increased by 18% on last week, with 5,612 head offered.
Prices were generally higher this week, while results were mixed across some categories.
The traditional momentum for spring selling continues to be “bogged”.
