Three covered Lower Namoi general security river licenses located on the Gunidgera and Pian Creek system sell as a package for $8.265m.
Five bidders battled it out for 1500ML of water on the Lower Namoi. The Namoi River catchment in northern New South Wales stretches westward from the Great Dividing Range to the floodplains of northern New South Wales.
Selling agent James Thomas from Nutrien Harcourts said there was a lot of interest in the sale. “Our recent water AuctionPlus sale was hugely successful with five registered bidders and over 130 bids placed,” he said.
“The multi-lot format enabled parties to bid on all three licenses whilst still providing an opportunity for people to bid on an individual license.”
He said the three were sold to one bidder.
“The licenses were acquired by one party and represent a significant lift in the value of general security water in the Namoi Valley.”
