With Beef Week right around the corner, we caught up with Jim and Jackie Wedge to discuss the Inaugural Beef Australia Stud Cattle and Genetics Auction being held in Rockhampton next week. Jim and Jackie run a customer focused Angus and Charolais stud breeding operation known as Ascot Cattle Co, located in Warwick, QLD.
Ascot Cattle Co will be featuring in the Genetics Auction at Beef Australia. This will contain a few rare Angus and Charolais semen packages, some having never been released to the public before. Embryo packages from both Angus and Charolais genetics will also feature in the Auction at #Beef2021.
Although there will be no bulls in the stud sale during Beef, the team will be displaying a few of their bulls ahead of their annual on-property bull sale in September.
“It’s a great opportunity to access some top-line embryos that we possess and to access not normally readily available semen packages,” says Jim.
Having attended every Beef Australia since it began in 1988, the Wedge’s cant wait to be back and participating in what they say is the most successful show in the Industry.
