Dubbo lawyer and grazier Stephanie Hughes has purchased the 21,000 acre Kopyje Station near Cobar in New South Wales’ north west.
Kopyje Station lies 115 kilometres west of Nyngan.
The property includes 14 dams and is subdivided into 16 paddocks.
At $239 an acre, selling agent David Russell from Landmark Cobar said it was a good buy by Dubbo solicitor and farmer Stephanie Hughes.
“She’s a lawyer from a farming background and has moved most of her business to Dubbo and Kopyje is only about three hours from there,” he said.
“Kopyje is a unique property, it’s a beautiful place and it was very good value for money. I think I did 14 inspections and nine of those registered to bid. We had interest from all over the country.”
The property also features a comfortable 1960s weatherboard and construction homestead, which was renovated in 2018. It has three large bedrooms, one with built-in robes, and the main bedroom has an ensuite.
The property is currently carrying 322 Santa Gertrudis breeding cows and followers, ten bulls, 300 Dorper ewes and nomadic rangeland goats.
“Kopyje means ‘small hill’ in Africa,” Mr Russell said.
