The spectacular beachfront cattle property in Cape Palmerston in central Queensland has been sold at auction to a private conservationist.
‘Coral Breeze’ is nestled on the pristine Queensland coastline at the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. It is less than an hour's drive from the major city centre of Mackay. The 1179 acres has over three kilometres of Coral Sea beach frontage. It’s one of the last large scale beachfront properties available between Yeppoon and Airlie beach.
Selling agent Richard Murphy from Ray White Sarina said there was a lot of interest in the special piece of land.
“We had over 80 inquiries from our initial marketing,” he said. “We had a lot of developers and conservationists interested because of the location and its close proximity to the national park and in the end it was sold to a private conservationist.”
The property also comes with a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom brick homestead on site, which is currently being used by the property caretakers. ‘Coral Breeze’ has a 900 metre grass airstrip and Mr Murphy said it also boasts excellent fishing and crabbing and an area to launch small boats from. “I think that was one of its selling points, the new owners plan to preserve the spot for its natural beauty.”
Mr Murphy said it was also a unique sale for him personally. “That’s the largest sale I’ve done since taking over the office.”
