Just minutes to the inland city of Toowoomba, ‘Mountain Glen’ has sold including a bonus oats crop.
A local buyer has purchased the 272 hectare farm 'Mountain Glen’ via auction for $4.5 million.
Not only is the property in an enviable location, just twenty minutes to Toowoomba and ten minutes to the airport, over 400 acres of the property has been planted to oats and was included in the sale.
Selling agent Michael Tomlinson from Webster Cavanagh Pty Ltd Toowoomba City said there were more than half a dozen interested parties.
“It is well placed, it has great access to road trains via the highway, which was a major draw card. It’s about two thirds cropping and a third grazing.”
The vendors decided to sell because the majority of their farming operations are interstate and the impact of the pandemic and border closures over the past two years had made it difficult to spend time up north.
“They bought it a few years ago and they were interstate purchases and it didn’t really fit into their ag portfolio, they just said it didn’t work because during Covid, it was too difficult to check on it and have decided to look at more purchases down south.”
Mr Tomlinson said good quality agricultural assets are still very much in demand.
“The better quality stock is still really in high demand, especially with strong commodity and cattle prices,” he said.
